If you’re looking for an inflatable hot tub with not only the standard bubble jets installed, then you simply can’t go wrong with SaluSpa Hawaii HydroJet Pro Inflatable Hot Tub from Bestway.

It has 8 hydro jets installed and has a seating capacity of up to 6 persons. The closest thing you can have into getting an authentic spa experience at home.

There are only a few other models out there available today which can deliver both light and more targeted and pressurized massage. In fact, our site even included SaluSpa Hawaii, also known as Lay-Z Spa Hawaii, as one of the top 3 inflatable hot tubs with hydro jets in our article here.

In this review, I will not only discuss the features and benefits of this hot tub. I will delve deeper into how it can improve your lifestyle, and ultimately understand if this is the right purchase for you.

Bestway has manufactured quite a number of inflatable hot tubs on the market today. In fact, they even manufacture Coleman’s own line of hot tubs.

The company describes SaluSpa Hawaii’s features in Amazon as follows:

– Portable, inflatable hot tub with 8 adjustable HydroJets
– Lay-Z-Massage system with soothing bubble jets and integrated water filtration system
– Rapid heating system heats up to 104 Degree F (40 Degree C)
– Comfortably fits 4 – 6 people
– Built-in salt water and hard water system
– Easy setup, no tools needed

These features may sound great on paper, but do they really deliver? What do they actually mean? It’s time to dive deeper then and see how can these benefit you.

Portable and Inflatable Hot Tub

One great selling point for inflatable hot tubs is that they are portable. This is especially helpful if you’re one of those who would like to rearrange stuff every now and then, and who doesn’t really?

It is great to be able to move this inflatable tub around in case you need to make room for a children’s party. If you have a motorhome, you can deflate and bring this HydroJet hot tub with you anywhere.

8 Adjustable HydroJets

Most inflatable hot tubs come with only bubble jets and this can already be enough to most people. The bubble jets produce bubbles which give a light, full-body massage.

SaluSpa Hawaii doesn’t only come with bubble jets, but has 8 hydro or massage jets. 2 of each are installed in each corner of the tub. This is a great design for a square shaped hot tub as you would preferably position yourself at the corner for more leg room.

These hydro jets pump out a more targeted and pressurized massage which is perfect for back pains.

They are also a lot quieter to run than the bubble jets. The angle of the nozzles is fully adjustable so you can have it focus on specific areas of your back.

Lay-Z-Massage System With Bubble Jets

As we mentioned above, this SaluSpa HydroJet tub has the standard bubble jets installed as well. These bubble jets line up the bottom perimeter of the tub.

Once turned on, they produce bubbles that gently massage your entire body. They also produce a loud sound similar to a small vacuum cleaner. The splashing sound of the water may drown the sound a little, though. Still, this can be too loud for those who wanted to have a peaceful soak.

Fortunately, if you’re planning to get a massage and have a quiet time while you de-stress, you can always choose to use the hydro jets instead.

Integrated Filtration System

A filtration system is installed on one of the sides of the inner wall. It is responsible for keeping the water clean from hair or chemical residues from lotions.

It makes use of 2 replaceable filter cartridges which you can easily buy online. Bestway has included 2 starter cartridges so you can start using your inflatable hot tub when you receive it.

Rapid Heating System

SaluSpa Hawaii HydroJet Pro Inflatable Hot TubThe heating system installed in the control unit heats up the water at a rate of 2 to 3 degrees Fahrenheit per hour. Honestly, it doesn’t seem that “rapid” to me at all.

Depending on the starting water temperature, it might take overnight to reach the maximum temperature of 104 degrees Fahrenheit.

To go around this shortcoming, you can fill your hot tub with warm water through a hose. Keep in mind that you should not use water hotter than 104 degrees, as anything beyond that can damage the inflatable hot tub’s materials.

Bestway also included an insulated cover to help keep the heat in when not in use and to keep the water clean as well.

Fits Up To 6 People

SaluSpa HydroJet Pro has a large capacity, which is able to accommodate up to 6 people. In reality, as we have discussed on comfortable capacity in our article here, only up to 4 persons can actually sit comfortably in this tub.

The square shape of this inflatable spa makes a big difference compared to the other round shapes, surprisingly. You get more leg room to stretch out when you seat in one of the corners, where the hydro jets are conveniently located as well.

Built-in Salt Water and Hard Water Treatment

These 2 built-in water treatment systems are part of the factors which makes Hawaii HydroJet Pro a premium inflatable hot tub. They can both be activated at the touch of a button.

The hard water treatment is responsible for keeping the water soft and refreshing to both your skin and clothes. It also eliminates mineral build up in this hot tub’s system, keeping it durable.

The salt water treatment is a boon to those who are sensitive to chemical chlorine. Just add salt and the treatment system will convert it to a more natural form of chlorine.

Easy To Setup, No Tools Needed

SaluSpa Hawaii HydroJet Pro Inflatable Hot TubCompared to permanently installed tubs, you do not need any professional help in setting this inflatable hot tub up. If you already have any experience in setting up air beds or inflatable sofa, it is just as easy.

Basically, you just need to inflate the hot tub and the cover, attach the control unit, and fill it up with water.

Can You Run Both Jets And Heater At The Same Time?

If there is one big gripe about this SaluSpa HydroJet Pro, it is the inability to run more than 2 functions at the same time.

It may not be that important to some, but if you’re as picky as me, I certainly do not want the water temperature to easily drop down, even at a slow rate when using my hot tub. The best solution is to turn on the heater every now and then to bring the temperature back up. Then turn on the massage jets again.

If this bothers you still, you may want to check Intex PureSpa Jet and Bubble Deluxe which we have reviewed here. It has the bells and whistles of SaluSpa Hawaii and the ability to run both heater and massage jets at the same time.

Can You Use It During Winter?

The minimum temperature that the inflatable hot tub can endure is 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Prolonged exposure to anything lower can lead to breakage.

If you still want to use it during winter, you can place the hot tub inside an enclosure, like a shed or inside a garage. Just be sure to consider the ventilation, humidity and a place to drain the water.

How Easy Is It To Maintain?

With both treatment systems installed, this model of SaluSpa does almost all of the maintenance work for you.

You will need to only concern yourself with cleaning, and eventually replacing, the 2 filter cartridges. Cleaning these cartridges can be once a week with regular use, which only involves hosing it down and throwing it in the dishwasher.

What Is The Warranty and How Is The Customer Service?

Bestway offers the following limited warranty to this product:

  • 1 year for the heater/control unit
  • 6 months for all hose
  • 30 days for the pool liner

Be sure to keep your original receipt, fill up the warranty form and have it registered for easier claims. You have to get all your bases covered because Bestway is quite notorious when processing claims. Some customers had to go through a lot of hoops to get a replacement.

Consumer Reviews

SaluSpa Hawaii HydroJet Pro Inflatable Hot Tub
Customers from Amazon gave SaluSpa Hawaii an average rating of 4 out of 5 stars, with more than 50% giving it 5 stars.

Those who gave it a high score were very happy with this inflatable spa, especially with the performance of the hydro jets.

20% of these customers had some very disappointing experiences with the manufacturer’s customer support, particularly when claiming for warranty.

I had mine broke down after more than a year of regular usage, but because it’s so much cheaper than getting a regular hot tub, I just gladly bought a new one. For this price point, I believe I already got more than what I paid for.

Pros

  • Comes with 8 adjustable hydro jets aside from the bubble jets
  • Able to accommodate up to 6 persons
